Former Australian Rugby Union Test full-back Brian Piper will reappear as a centre in American Rugby Union football this season. Piper will play in the centre with another former Australian international, Max Howell. Howell, now at the University of California, writing to friends in Sydney, says Piper is shaping extremely well. "He is now half a stone lighter than I am," says Howell. "When we tourned New Zealand with the Australian team in 1946 he was 28lb heavier." February 28, 1952.
