Naval Base Guams Fire & Emergency Services and the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Jackson (LCS 6) conducted an integrated in-port fire drill. The drill simulated a fire onboard Jackson that becomes larger than the ships force can handle and requires the assistance of the base fire department. Conducting joint drills helps to alleviate communication gaps and combine techniques necessary to assist shipboard personnel during a casualty.
