Engraving of a lighthouse intended for the Point de Galle, Ceylon (Sri Lanka). The lighthouse was built out of cast-iron plates, secured by nuts, bolts and iron cement. Prior to transport to Ceylon, it was erected on the site of it's builders, Messrs. Robinson, Engineers, of Pimlico; as can be seen in the image. Date: 1847
