Embalmers' Dockets ca. 1479-1458 B.C. New Kingdom This section of linen fabric is from a sheet used as the outermost wrapping of the mummy of a middle-aged man who was buried on the hillside below the tomb of Senenmut (36.3.252) in the Sheikh Abd el-Qurna cemetery in Western Thebes. A number of the sheets and bandages seem to have been inscribed by the embalmers during the wrapping process (see 36.3.179-.182). In all cases, the hieratic hand writing is the same..
