Edith Cavell pictured here seated bottom right, was head of a nursing school at Brussels. Edith Cavell was executed during World War One, with the charge of assisting allied soldiers to escape. She worked for the Red Cross in a Belgium hospital where many of the Allied soldiers treated there managed to escape to Holland.
