East Point light station on Saturna Island was first established around 1885, smaller outbuildings including this building which housed the fog horn were built on the open meadow as late as 1960. The light station was de-staffed in 1996 and the 2.8-hectare property is in the process of being transferred to Parks Canada, to be added to the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve.
