Done Star State Flag Ceremony Headquarters, Fifth Air Force, Korea -- When an "adopted' Texas tactical unit of the Fifth Air Fore, the 27th Fighter Escort Wing, was replaced by a real, live Texas unit, the 136th Fighter Bomber Wing, the official flag was lowered only long enough for an official transfer, then hoisted back to its regal position. Taking part in the transfer are left to right, Col. Albert C. Prendergast, Dallas, Texas, 136th Wing Commander; Brig. General James Ferguson, Deputy Commander, Fifth Air Fore; Maj. Gen. Frank F. Everest, Fifth Air Force Commander, and Col, Raymond F. Rudell, Buffalo, N.Y., 27th Fighter Escort Wing Commander. July 21, 1951. (Photo by U.S. Air Force Photo).
