A dingo puppy found in a hollow log near Glen Innes, has been brought to Taronga Park Zoo. Sir Edward Hallstrom, chairman of the Taronga Park Trust, will have the puppy, a bitch, examined by experts to determine if she is pure bred dingo. If she is, she will be used for breeding, because pure bred dingoes are scarce. The puppy has been named Josephine (pictured). Josephine was captured by two Rover Scouts. Glen Wham and Bruce Ogle, of Glen Innes. Hollow log - In scrub near Red Range they saw the remains of a possum outside a 35-foot long hollow log. Inside the log they found five dingo pups. Four were scalped (there's a 30/- reward for every dingo scalp handed in). Wham and Ogle took Josephine home in a haversack and fed her with warm milk and raw meat. September 3, 1955.
