Design for a Framed Print, Pen and ink, brush and sepia wash, graphite on paper, A molded frame before a tablet was evidently intended as the inner frame for something printed (but the proportions are not those of a book). The Tablet is topped by a girl with a lily spray seated before rays and a trophy of colors. She is accompanied by two children, one of whom busies himself with a garland. Another garland is suspended by a festoon. Seven medals are shown in the center of the frieze of the entablature. The central one shows the legend: 'LUD. XV D.G.F. Rex.' The second at left shows a Fredericus. Pairs of burning hearts, crowned monogram L and triglyphs decorate the frieze laterally.
