This composite image of the Jupiter-facing hemisphere of Europa was obtained on Nov. 25, 1999 by NASA's Galileo spacecraft. Blue areas show cleanest, brightest icy surfaces, while the red areas have the highest concentrations of darker, non-ice materials.
