Commonwealth Coronation Decorations -- Gerald Vaughan (top), 18, of Gravesend, and Frederick Hyde, 18, of Sutton-at-home, near Dartford, at work on the Australian emblem today April 28.Large scale emblems of the commonwealth countries, which will adorn the coronation stands in Parliament square, are now being painted by artists from the Royal College of Art, and Students.The painting is being carried out in the old south gallery of London's Victoria and Albert Museum.Each of the emblems, which will be erected on the quadrilateral stand in the square, are 16 feet square.One big painting, bearing the names of the colonies, is 36 feet in length and 24 feet in width at its widest point.Ten artists are engaged on the job.
