Commode (one of a pair) (part of a set) ca. 1772 British Fuhrlohg, a Swedish-born cabinetmaker, trained in Paris before moving in 1767 to London, where he made marquetry decorated furniture strongly influenced by French transitional forms. Sets of three commodes are extremely rare in eighteenth-century English furniture; this is the only known set by Fuhrlohg.
