Cloudy Gets Ready For Prince Charles. Cloudy stands docilely as she is saddled for the first time by farm worker Roy Wintle. Holding her is Mrs. E. Seymour Williams, on whose farm Cloudy was born last June. Cloudy, the 12-month-old black Shetland pony which was accepted by Princess Elizabeth for Prince Charles, is getting lessons in good manners in readiness for the day she goes to her Royal owner. On the old Sodbury farm, near Bristol, where she was reared, the pony is getting an intensive course to accustom her to traffic, to a saddle, and good behaviour. Cloudy at the request of Princess Elizabeth, is being kept by Mrs. E. Seymour Williams at the farm until the Princess settles the question of a country residence. March 02, 1950.
