The City Guildhall Ready Again : The famous ancient Guildhall of the City of London, which was badly damaged during the wartime blitz, has been restored completely, and will be used for the first time by the Court of Common Council on the 4th. This picture shows the Standards on the floor of the Guildhall which have been completely relaid during the reconstruction, being tested by the Controller of Standards of the Board of Trade, Mr. T.G. Poppy, OBE., B.Sc., M.I.M.E., assisted by Mr. J.J. Collins, of the Standards Dept. B.O.T. The Standards on the wall of the Guildhall survived the fire. November 01, 1954.
