Sewn onto uniforms, the color-coded badges identified the reason for an individual's incarceration. Red indicated political prisoner, Green : Professional criminals; Blue: forced foreign labour; Purple: Jehovah's witness; Pink: homosexual; Black: workshy or lazy.
