Carriers and trucks lining up for fuel at a refuelling dump during battle exercises at Haramura Japan. Troops of 3 Bn Royal Australian Regiment stationed in Japan were put through their paces last week in final preparation for their entry into the Korean war. Wartime conditions were intensified by typhoon Kesia which struck the training area soon after the bivouac started. Despite the adverse conditions, the troops came through admirably in their first experience in Japan of the type of tactical conditions likely to be found in Korea. September 29, 1950.
