Cardinal Spellman Records His Poems - Francis Cardinal Spellman here reads "Resurrection" into a microphone at an RGA-Victor record studio, during the recording of six of his poems to be produced as a record album. With the exception of one poem, "Prayer For Our Times," which is unpublished, the poetry has all appeared in print. "Prayer For Our Times," which is to be published soon in a National Magazine, was written by Cardinal Spellman especially for the ceremonies at Forham University May 11, 1946, when President Truman received an Honorary degree. The other recorded poems are: "Our Sleeping Soldiers," written on Okinawa during a world tour of the battlefronts in 1945; "The Risen Soldier," which concluded an 8,000-word story bought for the movies. March 24, 1947. (Photo by Wide World Photos).
