Call to Arms Makes London's Most Famous -- Sword maker busy. Mr. Tom Beasley well armed with some of his swords at his London factory. The last few weeks has seen an increased demand for sabres and swords and this has made London's most famous sword factory very busy. Mr. Tom Beasley, is Britain's oldest swordmaker. He is 75 and has followed in his father's and grandfather's foot steps in his trade. Mr. Beasley forced the sword with which Capt. Charles Fitzgerald won the V.C. in 1899 - A £10,000 sword for a Maharajan and swords for five English sovereigns and a special small knighting sword for Queen Victoria. March 16, 1938.
