Britains Secret Oil Field. -- Men at work connecting up a pump, in the background a new well is being bored. A British oilfield, whose location must still be kept a secret is yielding oil at the rate of 100,000 tons a year. Experts who have drilled for oil in Persia are among the 1,000 workers in this once quiet village. The oil is pumped to the surface by small noiseless electrical pumps which only take a few square wards of space, and are camouflaged to fit in with the surrounding countryside. January 16, 1945.
