Britain's 'Atom' Ships Sail For Australia -- The tank landing sjip Narvik is seen from the point battery at Portsmouth harbour mouth to-day when she set out with the Zeebrugge for Freemantle.Sailing to Australia to-day where Britain's new atomic weapon is expected to be tested later this year were the tank landing ships Zeebrugge and Narvik, both of which have a displacement of 2,256 tons.On board the vessels which are sailing under sealed orders in a party of nearly 100 Royal Engineers from the deport at Longmoor, Hampshire. The are taking with them equipment including electrical plant and a large quantity of armour-plated cable. February 19, 1952.
