Brass Astrolabe, made by Al Ibn Ibrahim, Morocco, in the 14th century. The astrolabe was one of the most prestigious ancient scientific instruments. The chiselled and finely carved disc represents the main stars visible at different times of the year in the sky. The main part of this instrument was built in Morocco in the 14th century while the other three parts were manufactured in India at the beginning of the 19th century.
