The "Brabazon's" Land Trails -- The gleaming surface of the rear assembly of the Brabazon before her trails today. The 130-ton Bristol Brabazon, the world's biggest landplane, moved under its own power for the first time today. Piloted by Mr. A. J. Pegg, Bristol Aeroplane Company's chief test pilot, the huge machine was given five separate taxi-ing tests, up and down the 3,000 yards specially built runway at Filton, Bristol. Highest speed attained during the tests was 76 m.p.h. September 3, 1949
