Bowl 9th century Although a variety of types from Nishapur and elsewhere used a black which stains the surrounding glaze yellow, pieces of the group to which this belongs run true to type. Especially characteristic are the sawtooth border, the sketchy pseudo-inscription bands and the crosslike motif at the center. The latter is known in fine polychrome-on-white ware as well..
