Bonnie Prince Charlie's Pistol For Prince Charles Chief Petty Officer Douglas Nannestad, of Browns Bay, Auckland, holding the pistol aboard the Bellona in Portsmouth Dockyard today (Saturday). First New Zealand warship to visit Britain since the war, the New Zealand Navy's cruiser Bellona, which has come to take part in the NATO Exercise 'Mainbrace,' entered Spithead this morning (Saturday) and tied up in Portsmouth Dockyard. The Ship's captain, Capt. G.V.M. Dolphin, brought with him an old flintlock pistol for presentation to Prince Charles. The gift of Mrs. Calbraith, of Auckland, New Zealand, it is believed to have been presented by Bonnis Prince Charles to Flora Macdonald when she helped him to escape from Scotland to France.
