Birkhall is Honeymoon Home For Elizabeth and Phillip -- The Curving driveway at the approach to Birkhall, Abergeldie Shire where Princess Elizabeth and Lieut. Phillip will spend the latter part of their honeymoon. Birkhall, near Balmoral, where the second part of Royal Honeymoon will be spent, is a three storey mansion standing in a heavily wooded glen, within a few miles of Balmoral. Built in 1715, it was in Possession of the Gordon family of Abergeldie until 1852, when it was purchased by King Edward VII, then Prince of Wales. November 13, 1947.
