Increased and guaranteed prices for agricultural produces are having their effect both on the African peasant and the European producer but with the latter, labour is a limiting factor. Farmer the world over need a good deal of extra labour for short periods at different seasons, and need it quickly, for harvesting, clearing new land of draining after unusually heavy rains.
