Any day on any green you will see the player who never looks where his bowl is going. His eyes look downwards, as pictured above, completely "blind" to the course his bowl is expected to take. Actually it is the high position of his knee which makes it impossible for him to sufficiently raise his eyes without lifting his shoulders. If he does lift his shoulders to remedy the "eye fault," the bowl will be delivered too high off the green and cause erratic bowling. The player should lose no time in determining the knee position suiting his physical make-up which allows his eyes to fall naturally on the proposed course of the bowl. January 01, 1953.
