Antonio Estruch (1873-1957). Catalan painter. Corpus de Sang (Corpus of Blood) or Els Segadors (The Reapers), 1907. It represents the riot that took place in Barcelona on 7 June, 1640 during the Corpus Christi day, between a group of reapers and the royal troops and the Viceroy of Catalonia and Minister of Philip IV, for the refusal of the Catalan population to accommodate troops of the Spanish Crown and accept the Union of Arms proposed by the Count Duque de Olivares.
