Anne of Austria -- Anne of Austria, daughter of Philip III of Spain, was only 14 when she married King Louis XIII of France in 1615.Anne was as frivolous a youngster as one could find in any European court at the time. Because of her husband's neglect, she flirted with the gentlemen of the court. She was especially attracted to handsome George Villiers, the first Duke of Buckingham.When her husband died, Anne assumed the regency for her son, King Louis XIV, and entrusted the government to Mazarin, Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.
