AndrÈ LÈon Blum (1872 ñ 1950) was Prime Minister of France. In office as Prime Minister: 16 December 1946 ñ 22 January 1947; 4 June 1936 ñ 22 June 1937; 13 March 1938 ñ 10 April 1938; 28 July 1948 ñ 5 September 1948. Blum was briefly Prime Minister again in March and April 1938, long enough to ship France's heavy artillery and much needed military equipment to the Spanish Republicans. He was imprisoned in Vichy France and Germany during the war.
