The performance shows Father Time at a table with an hourglass and a skull with a laurel wreath, the portraits of Johan and Cornelis de Witt and some open books are lying open. The books are Vondel's' Palamedes of murdered silly 'and the life of the bright Griecen Romeynen' by Plutarch. Under the right foot of De Tijd lies the torn 'Eewig Edict', in addition two extinguished torches and a snake. In the background above a gate the image of Johan van Oldenbarnevelt.
