Speaking briefly to the officers and crew of the LCI, Vice Admiral Waesche praised their valiant services in three major invasions. He inspected the battle tested craft during a recent visit to the European Theater of Operations. Going ashore with the Commandant at an undisclosed English port are: Captain A. C. Richmond, Senior Coast Guard Officer in London; Captain Miles H. Imlay, Commanding Officer of American LCI (L)s in the ETO; and Commander Aden C. Unger, acting LCI(L) flotilla commander.
