About twenty people in a march of more than a thousand participants in New York City during a National Day of Protest on Presidents Day 2025. They hold signs and peacefully protest recent actions by U.S. President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. The protesters assembled in Union Square, heading to Washington Square Park. Numerous colorful signs reflect a variety of viewpoints. In the name of reducing the size of government, its programs, services, headcount, and spending, Musk and DOGE have been accessing sensitive agency systems and data and, arbitrarily and with little or no oversight, laying off and terminating numerous federal employees.
