HYDROSALPINX, X-RAY. HYDROSALPINX, X-RAY This x-ray shows a hydrosalpinx and a dilatation of the left uterine tube. Hydrosalpinx is an accumulation of serous fluid in the uterine tube. This often occurs after salpingitis (infection of the tube). Dilatation can also be caused by hydrosalpinx. Distension of the uterine tube causes abdominal pain, revealing the condition. Laparoscopy must be performed to drain the fluid in the tube. Here left hydrosalpinx and dilatation of the left uterine tube.
