Fallen pillars mark the site of Ancient Olympia's Temple of Zeus, a massive Doric temple constructed in 460BC that housed an enthroned stataue of the god made from wood, ivory and gold. The famous sculptor, Peidias, created the statue and you can still see the remains of his workshop nearby.
