Diprotodon sharing the grounds with some early kangaroos on the edge of a Eucalyptus forest with a mix of Kauri trees and other vegetation. Diprotodon are an ancient marsupial ancestor of the wombat and koala. They lived and fed where forests changed to grasslands. Diprotodons date back to 1.6 million years ago in the fossil record until about 46,000 years ago, approximately the time the first humans began to spread through Australia.
