Viacom, the owner of MTV, has not renewed the lease on the space from the landlord SL Green that it has occupied since 1997. MTV was one of the first occupants during the period of time when the area was being transformed from a seedy, dangerous neighborhood into the glitzy, tourist attraction that it is now. Real estate analysts say that a current rent could be ten times what Viacom is paying. ( Richard
