Harlequin hummingbird, Trochilus multicolor. In 1833, William Jardine wrote that "this curious and singularly marked species was figured and described by Dr. Latham from a specimen in the British Museum." The same specimen was depicted by Nodder, and was copied by Vieillot, Lesson and Jardine, but Jardine says "it has been hinted that the specimen in the British Museum was made up from the feathers of different birds."
