The Apollo command module AS201 is prepared by frogmen to be hoisted aboard the USS Boxer. AS-201 was a successful unmanned sub orbital Apollo/Saturn 1B Mission 201 test flight. An instrumented Apollo Command/Service modules and a spacecraft LEM adapter was launched from Kennedy Space Center by a Saturn 1B to check spacecraft and launch vehicle mechanical compatibility, the spacecraft heat shield in a high-velocity re-entry mode, and the service module propulsion system.
